Famous for its fresh made-to-order Pita sandwiches and salads, this café has the potential to score some brownie points among the people in the neighbourhood. While their Select CityWalk outlet is preferred more for breakfast by the gym-goers, the Greater Kailash outlet has more college-crowd and regular shoppers dropping in.
Retaining the vibrant green and the chic grey salad counter from previous outlets, the designers have gone a step further in putting-up Pita Pit in Greater Kailash. From books on the shelves to broadcasting key live events on a projector screen, this café definitely provides a convenient spot to take a break when travelling through the area.
Their live kitchen counter offers a wide range of fresh vegetables, grilled meats, spreads and cheeses, along with some zesty sauces which can be combined to make a roll or sandwich. Try the gourmet sandwich or the Pita Pit fork-style (salad).
The six-inch Chicken Club Pita Roll Sandwich (Rs 170) is a whole wheat bread roll with chicken ham, chicken salami, turkey, babaghanoush, fresh vegetables like lettuce, tomato, mint, coriander and sautéed onions. The meat was tender and the roll had a nice crunch thanks to the fresh vegetables.
The six-inch Vegetarian Falafel Pita Roll Sandwich (Rs 120) has whole wheat bread with hummus, mix veg falafel, fresh vegetables, pineapple slices, corn kernels and black olives. Both the rolls were dressed in mint mayonnaise and Caesar dressing.
In between bites of the sandwich, try the mildly sweet, cold pressed Apple Juice (Rs 150) and Peppermint Iced Green Tea (Rs 80). The iced tea is refreshing and does not have a sharp peppermint taste. Since their NCR outlet is famous for the freshly prepared salads, we think you order up the Chicken Tikka Salad (Rs 220). With juicy chicken pieces tossed with mushrooms, lettuce, cheese and fresh vegetables in honey mustard and chipotle sauce, there are plenty of flavours you can pick out and love.
Pick up a box of Chocolate Chunk Cookies (Rs 50 per cookie) on your way out. The freshly baked cookies are crisp, mildly sweet with chunks of dark chocolate. For those who are looking for light lunch options in this area, Pita Pit is a safe bet.
Must Try: Chicken Tikka Salad, Apple Juice
Meal For Two: Rs 500 (inclusive of taxes)
